Stackable Wall Unit

Home Office Stackable Wall Unit The Stackable wall unit is actually a series of projects. The first part of the project contains the plans to build the wall unit base, basic cabinet shell, and the cabinet shell with doors. The other projects will cover the plans to make a filing cabinet and a neat little desk. It is a great project because it can be used in all types of rooms. Although it was meant to be used in a home office. That's the reason behind the desk and filing cabinet plans. The stackable wall unit call also be used is a bedroom, living room, or even the dining room as a china cabinet or buffet. The picture on the left shows a four section wall unit. The great part about this plan is that it can be customized to your needs. You can choose the number of sections that you want stacked up and you can choose the combination.

With the exception of the base apron details, which is made from hardwood, most of the parts are made from 3/4" plywood of your choosing. You can make this project as cheap or as expensive as you want. It all depends upon the wood that you choose. No, we don't leave the plywood edges bare. All of the edge that are exposed will be covered with iron on edge banding.

Base Top

ITEM NO. 1: The base top is made from 3/4" plywood of your choosing. The front and two sides get wrapped in iron on edge banding. You can leave the back exposed, because it won't be seen. The holes in the top are for aligning the stackable pieces together. For a printable version, click here.
NOTE: Drill the holes before the edge banding is applied as the dimensions are without edge banding. This applies to all of the plywood pieces.
